The Board and Dietitians NZ Inc announced in mid 2010 that the PHARMAC Board had agreed to allow authorised, currently practising dietitians to prescribe Special Foods and some related products, once they have attended and passed the special 'Dietitian Prescribers' training course, developed by the Board in conjunction with the School of Pharmacy, Auckland.

Please read the Prescribers Policy, the Information and express your interest to the Registrar. There are no further Dietitian Prescribers courses scheduled until 2012. Courses will likely be held in Christchurch and Auckland after April, and linked to the Dietitians NZ AGM in Wellington, late September.
